Well, first off, I didn't have any January Empties except foil packets but I didn't save those and they aren't very exciting, and you really can't tell if they work w/ a foil packet anyway.
Some things I've really been loving this month are definitely staples for me now! First off, I have been loving my Makeup Geek loose pigment in Sweet Dreams. This is a great shimmery skin-toned shadow for me. On lazy days or more casual days I just put some primer on, sometimes Illamasqua's Hollow, Kevyn Aucoin's Sculpting Powder in the crease, and put this all over my lid with a liner. It's really great and it's one of my go-to looks. And at $6.99 it's a steal!
Next up is a gift I received for Christmas and I've been loving it as a setting powder. It's none other than the Meteorites from Guerlain in Clair 02. I really love this and at the beginning, I started off using this only sparingly because it is so expensive at $60.00, but seeing as you get a lot of it and you'll basically die before you finish it, I decided it was ok to use this everyday.
The next thing is semi-makeup related. It's a velcro fringe holder. Now I don't have fringe but I have a lot of baby hairs; I've come to terms with them. They'll never go away. I'll be 80 with silver hair and they'll still be there. I digress. But I got these on eBay and took about 3 weeks to arrive. I got a quantity of 2, which is 10 total. I wanted to make sure I got the colors I wanted and I've giving some away as gifts.
I bought Missha Time Revulotion Essence because I read it was a great dupe for SK II Essence but I hadn't really noticed any difference in my skin. I know things are not overnight, and I was trying to save my SK II for when I run out because it is so expensive at $105. I don't know why, but I started using the essence with the toner and the next day I felt a difference. My texture had gotten better and my skin looked slightly brighter. I ditched my Missha and keeping on using my SK II products and couldn't be happier! Now I gotta save up for some more goodies from them. My wallet and Matt are not gonna be happy... I will still use the Missha but probably for my arms though.
I have been loving Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb for a perfume. I really think it's a lovely scent and even though it is quite floral, I still think you can wear it during the cold winter months. It's bright and fresh and one of my favorites!
Well that wraps up my January favorites! What did you love this month?
