It's the most wonderful time of the year! And with the holiday festivities comes my December favorites! Let's jump right in!
I have been loving CeraVe's moisturizing cream! In these cold NYC winter days, this has been a life saver! When it's warmer out, I use their lotion, and when it's summertime, I use a different lotion. But right here, right now, the heavy moisturizing cream is where it's at! You know my aversion to jars so I bought a lid with a built in pump and this has completely changed my mind about the product! Sometimes when it's extremely cold out, I will use this as a moisturizer too and it works great!
These next two favorites go hand in hand. My dear friend Jenn over at The Fakeup recommended the Beauty Blender to me because I was having issues with my foundation, Diorskin Nude in 021 Linen. I was just about to give up hope to this because my beloved Sigma F80 flat kabuki brush wasn't cutting it for this foundation. Well lo and behold, I am now loving this foundation! I am probably the last person to jump on the Beauty Blender band wagon but nonetheless I'm on there and loving it!
You're probably going to get sick of seeing this, but I am still so in love with Kevyn Aucoin's Sculpting Powder in Medium. The funny thing is I haven't used this to contour or bronze my cheeks- I just use it to contour my monolid to fake a crease. It looks very dark in the picture but it's very subtle on my olive skin and it's just wonderful. It comes off lighter than Urban Decay's Buck.
I have been loving my lip tars again, mostly reaching for Hush and Memento! These can be worn as is or layered over or under something. The only thing I don't like about them is they separate and they can take me a while do un-separate them. If anyone has any tricks, please let me know! I have a whole drawer full of them. They do take a while to put on so it's not the best if you are pressed for time. But if you have it, lip tars are definitely a great thing to have!
What are your monthly favorites? I love getting recommendations!
