Well, when my friend Snowy asked if I wanted to get lunch on her day off on Friday, I immediately said yes. One, because I love Snowy. Two, because food. So I suggested a beloved restaurant of ours, Alice's Tea Cup! Sadly I didn't get any pictures of the adorable decor inside, all Alice themed of course! If you're in NYC and want an adorable place for a scone or a cup of tea or lunch, please do yourself a favor and go here! I try to take a lot of visitors here because it's so unique and charming!
We picked out a Cinnamon Chai Tea and a Peach Rooibos Tea. Both were just fantastic! Whenever we drank one tea, that was our favorite, but when we switched, the new one was our favorite! Both were just amazing! The cinnamon chai tea was so fall appropriate and just so rich and luxurious! The peach rooibos tea was so summery and light and refreshing! The teas are served with a cream and honey.
We ordered the Mad Hatter which consisted of two pots of tea, three scones, two sandwiches, assorted cookies and one dessert.
We picked out a savory ham and cheese scone, chocolate butterscotch scone, and a pumpkin scone! All of them were so good! It's so nice because if you don't have time for a sit down lunch or the line is too long, you can just order a scone to go! They're served with butter, raspberry jam, and clotted cream. Nom!
We got two sandwiches in the Mad Hatter and we picked the smoked salmon and the curried chicken salad. The smoked salmon is served open-faced but dill butter on pumpernickel and it's fantastic! I just add a tiny bit of salt and pepper and I could eat it all day! The chicken curry salad is just heaven! I could eat a whole bowl of it!
The cookies weren't great. They tasted old or store bought and not worth the calories. The lemon tart on the other hand was fantastic! It was the perfect blend of tartness, sweetness, and yumminess!
Please go here! Even if you just have time for a quick scone, do it! They're so good!
