I have 2 subscription boxes (Wantable Accessory and Wantable Makeup) and love them so much! It's fun getting a surprise each month. Matt had mentioned he was thinking about getting a subscription box but when I went to do some research for him, he didn't seem interested in the ones I found for him. Then I saw Man Crates; while this is not a monthly subscription, you can look at everything in the box and make a purchase for a loved one. I already want to get a BBQ one for my dad, a snack one for my nephew, and a hot sauce one for my Father-In-Law! These are such amazing gifts!
The Man Crate describes itself as:
We say 'no' to ugly neckties, cologne samplers and executive trinkets. We don't save wrapping paper, we don't do ribbons.
We ship bragworthy gifts for guys. Gifts that you can't wait to arrive because you know the recipient will love opening them.
Gifts that people gather round at the office, people following the sounds of wood being torn from wood by the included, laser-engraved crowbar.
We are Man Crates, and we deliver awesome gifts for men.
As soon as I saw the Retro Gamer Man Crate for $99.99, I knew this would be the perfect gift for Matt! I was so excited the $15 shipping charge didn't even bother me! And it got to us super quick! I ordered it around 9 am on Thursday and it arrived on Friday! I couldn't wait for Matt to open it! Fair warning, it probably took around 20 minutes for Matt to open the crate! We had to use a towel, a hammer, a schill (a screwdriver), and the crow bar that was provided. The towel isn't necessary, we just didn't want to be super loud.
- Retro-Bit Entertainment System, $14.75
- Assorted Candy (estimated $2/piece, $2 x 8 = $16)
- 2 Nintendo Games (estimated $5/piece, $5 x 2 = $10)
Total Value Of Contents: $40.75
Is the experience worth $59.24? Well, that's up to you. I did feel sort of bad for spending so much on Matt when the value wasn't quite there, but he assured me he loved, or at least appreciated, the experience and thought it was very unique! Now, to be honest, my Father-In-Law loves hot sauce but I'm not sure he'll be able to open one of these by himself, so I'll have to think of another gift for him for Christmas. I am really happy I bought this for Matt and that he thought it was such a neat gift! I only wish I could be there for when my dad and nephew open theirs come Christmas!
