I recently met up with my long lost friend Jessica and we decided to go to Moonstruck Diner. If you're a friends fanatic, this is the facade of the restaurant where Monica got up on the bar and danced!
For starters, we got the Texas Nachos. And as it turns out, the chips were really good! I could have done without the beans. I remember making a comment to her that I'm glad there were no beans in there from the description. And yes, real chili doesn't have beans. But it was still fairly good.
We got some Pinot Grigio and again, I was pretty happy with it!
Then about a minute after we got our nachos, and no, I'm not exagerating on the time, we got our sandwiches. I was a little peeved they couldn't wait at least 5 minutes, especially since there were about 2 other occupied tables. But thankfully my BLT was cold so I was able to enjoy the nachos. When I got the sandwich, I was a little surprised this wasn't cut diagonally but oh well. And I did have to ask for mayo which he handed me a packet of mayo. Diner food. What are ya gonna do?
Jess got a Grilled Cheese and it looks really good, and it was cut on the diagonal! Even though I'm such a sucker for BLT's, I wish I had gotten the grilled cheese. She said she really liked it so that's good!
We also splurged and got Coconut Cream Pie and it was great! I was pretty happy with it even though I was pretty full!
Overall, I'd go back there if I wanted diner food, but I wasn't overly impressed with it. However, if I stop judging it for what I want it to be and just appreciate the simplicity of the food, it's alright.
